    AKIN joins Planet B.io as a resident at Biotech Campus Delft

    Following its win at the Industrial Biotech Bootcamp 2025, AKIN joined Planet B.io as a resident at the Biotech Campus Delft in June 2026. Planet B.io published a feature interview with CEO Ieva Palubeckaitė covering Kinfinity Recovery, AKIN's enzymatic biorefinery process, the role of the Bootcamp in building the business model, and AKIN's plans to validate the process at lab scale before integrating into existing recycling infrastructure.

    AKIN wins a prize at the NL Startup Competition

    AKIN pitched at the finale of the NL Startup Competition x Draper 2026 during Upstream Festival in Rotterdam on 21 May, as one of four finalists in the Climate & Energy category, and won €2,500 from V.O. towards patent, trademark and legal costs.

    AKIN pitches on BNR Newsradio

    AKIN COO Halithan Çetin pitched Kinfinity Recovery on BNR Zakendoen's weekly Pitch segment, fielding questions from host Thomas van Zijl and guest assessor Jacqueline van den Ende, co-founder and CEO of Carbon Equity. The conversation covered why end-of-life rubber is difficult to recover at value, where an enzymatic approach might change that, and the distance between benchtop results and industrial recycling.

    AKIN has become a member of HollandBio, the association representing the Dutch life sciences and biotechnology sector. The membership gives AKIN a route into sector policy discussions on industrial biotechnology and materials.

    AKIN wins the Industrial Biotech Bootcamp pitch competition!

    AKIN was a co-winner of the pitch competition at the 2025 Industrial Biotech Bootcamp. The eight-week programme, run by Biotech Booster and Planet B.io, helps early-stage industrial biotech companies become investor-ready, and supported AKIN in sharpening its value proposition, technology roadmap and commercial strategy.

    €450,000 NWO Take-Off 2 awarded, to begin development of Kinfinity Recovery

    AKIN received a €450,000 NWO Take-Off phase 2 loan, the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research's programme supporting entrepreneurial researchers in translating scientific knowledge into commercial ventures. The loan funded the early development of Kinfinity Recovery and marked AKIN's pivot from services to a product-focused company.

    AKIN became a member of the Circular Rubber Platform, the European industry network bringing together recyclers, tyre manufacturers and material developers working towards a more circular rubber value chain.

    AKIN received grant funding from Rabo Impactfonds and Provincie Zuid-Holland to develop an analysis method for more of the ingredients inside a tyre, starting with 6PPD.

    AKIN received a kickstart loan from the Enterprise Leiden Fund, providing the early-stage backing that supported development of Kinfinity Imaging.

    AKIN builds its foundations across four incubator programmes

    Across 2023 and 2024, AKIN took part in Venture Academy at PLNT Leiden, Unlock, BSV Ventures and Sprout, building the commercial and operational foundations of the company alongside its scientific development.
